Scoreboard - Blog about that Buddy!

This site recounts the amazing way that Mormonism has changed peoples lives. Marriages have been save, homes restored, and faith renewed. People are being saved, marriages are being restored, kids are getting their fathers back. That is why Joseph Smith gave us the Book of Mormon so more people could get to know God. So how dare you criticize what God is doing here. The result speak for themselves. So to all you doubters and nay-sayers I have on thing to say: SCOREBOARD.
I use the following example to illustrate the natural tendency to see the 'fruit' of a work as proof from the 'truth' of a work. At a recent service of NewSpring Church, the Pastor Perry Noble, chided those who would speak harsely about his church. He said, "I'll look right in the camera a say Scoreboard, (the auidence breaks into applause) lives are being changed." This kind of attitude exhibits the typical American preference for Pragmatism. Pragmatism is the philosophy that says 'Do whatever work.' The problem with pragmatism is that it does not work. For example of how a marriage was saved by God, you can find an example of how a marriage was destroyed because one spouse turned to God. Try telling Christians in Iraq to have their "Best Life Now." This is the same reason why Tony Robbins or Oprah can also help people change their lives. Islam, Mormonism, Buddism, Secular Humanism, and many other 'ism's' can help people change their lives. The question is not the changed life but rather has the gospel of forgiveness, repentenence, freedom from the wrath of God been proclaimed. Self-help systems are a dime a dozen. It is unfortunate that NewSpring may help people with personal issues but they fail to help people the the ultimate issue.

Rick Warren - Islam's Useful Idiot
In political jargon, the term useful idiot was used to describe Soviet sympathizers in western countries and the attitude of the Soviet government towards them. The implication was that though the person in question naïvely thought themselves an ally of the Soviets or other Communists, they were actually held in contempt by them, and being cynically used.

Why do we get the worst spokes people for Christianity? Well, Rick Warren, Purpose-Driven Pope, went to speak to a group of Muslims and instead of warning them of the judgement to come for believing a lie he started to apologize and sought to placate the crowd with pithy platitudes. This is the same man who uttered this whopper while praising an advocate of Baby butchery (Obama): "I humbly ask this in the name of the one who changed my life, Yeshua, Isa, Jesus [Spanish pronunciation], Jesus." Who exactly is "Isa"? Jesus’ true name, according to the Qur’an, was ‘Isa. His message was pure Islam, surrender to Allah. (Âl 'Imran 
3:84) Like all the Muslim prophets before him, and like Muhammad after him, ‘Isa was a lawgiver, and Christians should submit to his law. Teaching The Law!

Notice the Subtle, "If their heart is not here" indictment of "non-tithing" members. Consider what Jesus said concerning giving:
4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. (Mat 6:4 ESV).
Consider the following statement by Frank Viola in his book Pagan Christianity "With the death of Jesus, all ceremonial codes that belonged to the Jews were nailed to Christ's cross and buried, never to be used again to condemn us. For this reason, we never see Christians tithing in the New Testament, just as we don't see them sacrificing goats and bulls to cover their sins (173)."
NewSpring (along with most seeker driven churches) bind the Old Covenant principle of the Tithe on the consciouses on New Covenant believers. For this reason they are perverting the pure message of Grace found the the sacrificial atonement of Jesus, Our Savior.

For any healthy church the sum and substance of vitality is numerical growth. Attracting a big crowd on Sunday morning validates any and every methodology used to attract such a crowd. Pine Ridge Church puts it this way:

Ditch the Nicene Creed
In order for the culture to understand what we believe it is important for our doctrines to rhyme! Imagine driving north or south on loop 303 to Olive Avenue and turning westbound toward the White Tank Mountains. You drive up to an incredible corner lot off Olive Ave with adequate entrances and exits. There are plenty of parking spaces and a two-story building facing towards the mountain. You step outside the car and you’re greeted by warm, friendly greeters in the courtyard. You walk to the front doors enjoying upbeat music, the various water features, and outdoor themes. More greeters welcome you by the front door. They hand you a bulletin of the days events and a map. You decide to walk further inside.
In the lobby you notice a mountain theme all around - peaks, valleys, rivers, rocks, and natural elements decorate the lobby. At the welcome center you find outgoing people answering all your questions and escorting you to the various rooms. You notice that each smaller auditorium has a particular mountain theme as well. You check-in your baby and receive a pager. Your older children almost pull your arm off to get to their room! You walk over to the coffee shop, grab a cup of coffee, and sit down to watch ESPN (Nothing so sanctifies the mind and prepares one to enter into the communal fellowship and worship of the Living God like Sports Center.) on the LCD screens. You talk to a friend you haven’t seen all week and decide to find the main auditorium. Ahead you see two escalators, two sets of stairs, and an elevator leading up to the auditorium. You’re thinking, "Wow that’s neat; an upstairs auditorium…" (I think that I will repent of my sins and turn from my wicked ways and deny myself daily, take up my cross and follow Jesus because this building has an auditorium upstairs) As you approach the doors, you get the sense this is where lives are changed every single week. (The Gospel of the Changed life verses the Gospel of Christ and Him crucified)
Maybe you're thinking, "How are lives changed?" I'm so glad you asked. We believe in using the performing arts to accomplish the five eternal purposes (For I am no ashamed of the performing arts, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the 25 – 45 male age group first and also to everyone else.)of the church: evangelism, community, discipleship, serving, and worship. I guess you could say we're directed by purpose. Our goal is that every seeker (someone looking for God) find a personal friendship with God. (There is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God. Rom. 3:11; No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent me draws him ~John 6:44) We use comedy, drama, music, lighting, and videos to help people connect with God and learn about the timeless truths written in the Bible. Local Pastor Hinuralant of the Woodsprings Fellowship recently did a teaching series entitled, "Not Righteous Enough in his Generation." The series used the Biblical story of Noah to explain what not to do when attempting to win converts. Pastor Hinuralant states, "Noah had decades to preach and teach the world that their best days are ahead of them. Yet, not one verse indicates that he taught his generation how to have their best life right now. He never did a survey of the peoples felt needs. All he did was build a big boat and tell people the world was ending. Talk about a negative Nelly." Pastor has decided to build his own Purpose-Driven Ark to make right Noah's wrong. He states, "My Ark will have all the features which would have changed the people of Noah's generation. My expertise consists of developing strategies for filling pew seats with carbon life forms, using media (and Malachi 3) to persuade pew warmers that not giving at least 10% of their income (that's Gross income not net income for all you robbers of God) is tantamount to stealing gold from the heavenly streets of Gold. Using my methods will surely lead to numerical growth. My philosophy is Style over Substance. I am more concerned with Numbers in weekly attendance than the exposition of the Book of Numbers.
